Five Filipino playwrights. Seven compelling stories. One stage that brings love, family, relationships, and life’s unexpected truths to life.
After the success of Saglit Lang, Totoo Na last June 2026, FirstSun Production brings back Saglit Lang, Totoo Na – The Re-Run this November, featuring seven short plays that explore the realities of human relationships through a mix of comedy, drama, and heartfelt storytelling.
The production showcases the works of Rene O. Villanueva, Vincent De Jesus, Alfonso I. Dacanay, Glory Ann Nacional, and Caleb Alvarez, with each playwright offering a distinct perspective on the experiences that shape our lives.
Rene O. Villanueva’s Walang Iwanan explores the complexities of forbidden love, while Vincent De Jesus’ Over a Cup of Coffee tells a moving story about honesty, identity, and acceptance within a family. Alfonso I. Dacanay’s Eyeball examines online connections and first impressions, while Glory Ann Nacional’s Wagas and Babae sa Dilemma ng Bra explores love, sacrifice, heartbreak, and self-discovery. Completing the collection are Caleb Alvarez’s Hele, a touching story about family and a long-awaited homecoming, and Sa mga Mata ng Bata, a humorous take on good manners and the values we teach others.
Bringing these stories to life is a cast of professional actors with experience in television, film, and theater productions. Their diverse performing backgrounds and experience in interpreting complex characters bring depth and authenticity to each story onstage.
Directed and produced by ALIW and LEAF Award Best Director Rodel J. Mercado, the production continues FirstSun Production’s commitment to presenting theater that entertains while encouraging audiences to reflect on relationships, personal choices, and the realities of everyday life.
Established in 2012, FirstSun Production is a full-service media production company that produces theater performances and corporate events, using storytelling as a platform for entertainment, education, and meaningful conversations.
