Following its successful premiere earlier this year, Infinite Cantina proudly brings back Saglit Lang, the acclaimed original play by BJ Crisostomo, for a limited run this August under the direction of internationally acclaimed playwright, director, filmmaker, and educator Dr. Anton Juan.
Presented in partnership with the Ateneo Department of Sociology and Anthropology, Ateneo Fine Arts Department, Tepanya Inc., the Kwan Laurel Fund for the Humanities, the Institute for Philippine Culture, YouthFest, Act Avenue, and TIME Events, the production invites audiences to once again experience a moving celebration of resilience, imagination, and the transformative power of theater.
Originally staged to critical appreciation, Saglit Lang tells the story of a child fleeing a violent reality and finding temporary refuge inside an abandoned theater. Within this forgotten space, the child encounters a Maestro who opens the door to the world of performance. As they journey through moments from classic dramatic texts, the child discovers how theater reflects the human experience—revealing both its deepest wounds and its greatest joys.
Rooted in the belief that theater is both a mirror of society and a vessel for hope, Saglit Lang celebrates storytelling as a force that heals, inspires, and connects communities.
The production is written, produced, and performed by BJ Crisostomo, who portrays the Child alongside Rico del Rosario, while Ron Capinding reprises his role as the Maestro.
The rerun is directed by Dr. Anton Juan, a Tenured Professor of Theatre at the University of Notre Dame (USA) and an internationally recognized theater artist whose work has challenged theatrical conventions across the globe. Honored by the French Republic as Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite, Dr. Juan continues to inspire generations of theater practitioners through his work as a director, playwright, filmmaker, and educator.
Supporting the production is a creative team composed of Rena Lazaro (Head Stage Manager); Assistant Stage Managers Jomari Jacinto, Aicen Raquejo, John Custer, and Chinkee Pineda; Luis Orbeso (Lighting Designer and Boardsman); Keith Bautista (Sound Boardsman); Mark Pelicano (Video Playback); Carl Kenneth Villanueva (Graphic Designer); Sol Samudio (Illustrator); Diana Doblos Crisostomo (Social Media Head); Israel Manuel Cortez (Ingress Head); TIME Events (Events); and the marketing team composed of Aly Bazylon and Fatima Monterona.
Performances will be held at the Rizal Mini Theater, Ateneo de Manila University, on the following dates:

- August 22, 2026 (Saturday) – 2:00 PM and Gala Performance at 7:00 PM
- August 23, 2026 (Sunday) – 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM
