Following its well-received run earlier this year, Boxstage Manila brings back George de Jesus III’s Palanca Award-winning play Sala sa Pito. The restaging is produced in partnership with Far Eastern University (FEU), the FEU Center for the Arts (FCA), and the FEU Theater Guild (FTG), under the direction of Boxstage Manila’s Founder, PETA Senior Artist, and FTG Artistic Director, Dudz Teraña.
Boxstage Manila, composed of alumni from FEU Theater Guild, has built a name for productions that are bold and unforgettable. The group previously staged Risa Jopson’s adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez’s Ang Pinakamakisig sa mga Nalunod sa Buong Daigdig in 2020 and relaunched in 2024 with Allan Lopez’s Anatomiya ng Pag-ibig. With Sala sa Pito, the company continues its pursuit of theater that stirs, provokes, and connects deeply with audiences.
Loosely inspired by Arthur Schnitzler’s La Ronde, Sala sa Pito follows a chain of encounters between eight characters, unfolding in everyday places—a café, a club, a lugawan, a bar, and more. Set against the soundscape of the 1990s, the play unpacks shifting ideas of intimacy, desire, and power, revealing the vulnerability that underlies human connection.

With this restaging of Sala sa Pito, Boxstage Manila invites audiences to return to what theater can awaken in us—memories, longings, and the fragile beauty of being human.
The production is staged at the FEU Center for the Arts Studio, a black box theater that places the audience close to the performers, allowing every moment to feel immediate and unfiltered.
